Traveling

To say we have taken advantage of Darby's portability (and Doug's frequent flier miles), would be a vast understatement. Our little nugget has clocked 11 flights in her short 4 months of life. Turns out she's a happy little flier and doesn't usually make a peep unless a random seat mate tries to hold her. I'm sure once she gets more mobile and independent, she'll be a hellion to fly with, but for now, she just chills out and watches everyone.

One of our last adventures was to Crested Butte and Aspen. Crested Butte is one of mine and Doug's favorite places and some of our favorite people live out there, so we knew we had to show it to Darby!

Mt. Crested Butte

We hung out with Matt, Julie, Penn and their zoo of animals (3 dogs, 1 cat and 5 chickens!) for a few days. They took us cross country skiing and skiing at Crested Butte mountain.

Obviously, it was a super serious x-country adventure

Matt wasn't working hard enough, so Penn jumped on!

Not a ton of snow, but lots of fun exploring

Back in December, we "won" a silent auction raffle for a hotel and day of skiing in Aspen, so we tied it into our trip to Colorado. Despite the 4 hour drive and a little car accident in the rental car, we made it to beautiful Aspen!

We ended up scoring great babysitters in Crested Butte and Aspen so we could ski all day and not have to worry about Darby. It occurred to us after the fact that we still don't know either of the women's last names that stayed with our daughter all day, but all's well that ends well and we had an awesome day at Aspen Mountain.

Reunited with our little buddy after a great day of skiing...see, she's fine!
We got back from Crested Butte late Monday night and flew off to Utah for a last minute ski trip and family visit on Friday morning.

One of the best things about going to Utah now is that we have multiple willing and free babysitters! My mom and dad practically beg us to go skiing. It is the ultimate win-win. Grandparents get to hang out with baby, Doug and I get some play time on the slopes! One day we skied with our friend Rex at Snowbird and had an epic, bluebird, soft snow type of day!

Hiking for the goods
The next day we skied at Solitude with Whitney, Tyler and my mom. The snow was super hard and it was pretty windy, but we still had a lot of fun.

Have you ever seen a circular rainbow?
While all of the trips have been fabulous, it's nice to be home and into somewhat of a routine. Hopefully we'll get at least one more ski trip in before the Winter is over.
