Darby is ONE!

What a whirlwind this last year has been! Better (and totally different) than I could have ever imagined. It sounds bad to say that we had pretty low expectations going into child rearing, but I think we set them low so that we could only be pleasantly surprised. We thought we would be up all hours of the night for the first year with a screaming, vomiting, unhappy kid...which I'm sure we still would have loved just as much...but instead, we completely lucked out with one of the easiest babies and now one of the most pleasant one year olds I've been around. This kid goes everywhere with us - dinners in the city, plane rides across the country, ski towns galore, hiking, biking, x-country skiing, running...you name it and she is almost always happy as a clam. We hit the baby jackpot with Darby. We may be totally screwed with number 2 with our unicorn and rainbow outlook on what the first year can look like, but we've loved every moment of it.
